3. Examples of successful campaigns
- Soulja Boy uploaded “Tell Em” to Napster with titles like “50 Cent In Da Club” knowing people would like it, google the lyrics and find the song
- Alison Wonderland, Steve Aoki and many others put on parties in their hometowns that got bigger and bigger, allowing them to grow their network and headline their own shows
- Eminem would battle rap anyone, eventually giving a demo tape to someone he met after he lost, which ended up in the hands of Dr Dre.
Use playlists to get on Spotify and Yotuube. They need new music every week.
Use playlistsupply.com to monitor Spotify playlists.
4. 6 Steps to launching
- Plan where you’re going to get your traffic from before the song even comes out.
- Do you have a group of other friends who make music who will shout it out on swipe-up stories?
- PR almost never moves the needle for a small/new/unsigned act. PR is networking, having lots of friends who can forward your song to the right person knowing the PRs who can do lots with little $. You can use submithub.com to approach playlisters.
- Ads - If you get ads right, you go viral 7 days a week
- Spotify Campaigns
- Fanbase and Social Media PR - Create a series of 8 posts for each release:
- Question post, should i release a song that…..?
- Im releasing on X date
- Release a snippet of the song on a story
- Release a snippet of the 2nd part of the song
- 48 hours till song comes out
- Tomorrow at this time - heres the presave linj
- Its out!
- Screenshot peoples comments reactions and share.
5. Algorithms
How algorithms are calculated:
I (Interest) x P (post) x C (Creator) x T (Type) x R (Recency)
Interest - Interest of the user in the creator

CReator - PErformance of pas posts by the content creator
Type - Type of the post (status, photo, link)
Recency - How new is the post
